Kim Jong-un’s North Korea is increasingly becoming a problem, and might be the biggest threat to world peace outside of ISIS.
On one of the only bipartisan issues we can all agree on, former President Barack Obama refused any contact with the North Korean dictator and actually used China to keep Kim Jong-un in check since China is their only trading partner.
Now President Trump has sent a powerful and aggressive message to China about Kim Jong-un as well.
The New York Post reported:
“President Trump delivered a stern warning for Chinese President Xi Jinping in advance of their first presidential meeting this week at Mar-a-Lago: Contain North Korea, or the United States will.
‘Well, if China is not going to solve North Korea, we will. That is all I am telling you,’ Trump told the Financial Times in an interview published online Sunday.
North Korea’s nuclear program and US-China trade relations are expected to top the agenda when the leaders meet Thursday and Friday at Trump’s Florida resort.
Trump campaigned against unfair Chinese trade policies and their “rape” of America and has already ticked off Beijing government officials by talking with Taiwan’s leader and violating the longstanding ‘One China’ policy.
But in the interview, Trump sounded an optimistic tone for a grand bargain with Xi.
‘I have great respect for him. I have great respect for China,’ Trump said. ‘I would not be at all surprised if we did something that would be very dramatic and good for both countries and I hope so.’
If left unchecked, the Trump administration believes, North Korea’s nuke program could soon threaten the United States.
‘There is a real possibility that North Korea will be able to hit the US with a nuclear-armed missile by the end of the first Trump term,’ KT McFarland, the deputy White House national security adviser, told the Financial Times.”
This is a necessity, and China has to take the lead in controlling the delusional man-child who currently occupies the country.
And although North Korea’s reach with nuclear weapons would barely breach the U.S. borders, it could hit Alaska.
This graphic shows their current reach.
But it’s possible they will be able to reach the U.S. in the near future, and quite possibly, that might be the move they’ve been waiting for.
The New York Post concluded:
“‘There is a real possibility that North Korea will be able to hit the US with a nuclear-armed missile by the end of the first Trump term,’ KT McFarland, the deputy White House national security adviser, told the Financial Times.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson already signaled a tougher posture toward North Korea by declaring last month that the “policy of strategic patience has ended.’
Trump intends to pressure China to take a stepped-up role, while not ruling out any US options against North Korea.
‘China has great influence over North Korea. And China will either decide to help us with North Korea, or they won’t,’ Trump said. ‘If they do, that will be very good for China, and if they don’t, it won’t be good for anyone.’”
But all of this is inevitable.
Kim Jong-un will cause destruction because it’s in his DNA and he hates the United States.
Fortunately, the Trump administration has the foresight to predict this will happen and are going to put a stop to it before it gets out of hand.
