Leftists flipped their lid over Donald Trump nominating Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.

That was to be expected.

But their whining doesn’t hold any water, and Trey Gowdy pointed that out with revealing remarks.

Gowdy – like virtually all conservatives – applauded Trump’s selection of Gorsuch.

He tweeted his approval:

Scalia was one of the most influential justices who ever served on the Supreme Court.

He was also known as an originalist.

This meant he based his decisions on the original intent of the framers based on the text of the Constitution.

Scalia’s sharp wit and adherence to principle made him one of the greatest Supreme Court Justices in America’s history.

During the campaign, Trump promised to appoint justices in the model of Scalia.

Gowdy pointed out that Trump fulfilled his promise by nominating Gorsuch, who is also considered an originalist.

Left-wing activists predictably lost their minds.

Some blabbered he was even more “extreme” than Scalia.

Breitbart reports:

“He represents an existential threat to legal abortion in the United States and must never wear the robes of a Supreme Court justice,” an online statement from NARAL read.

Other pro-abortion organizations agreed.

“Donald Trump’s nominee, Neil Gorsuch, has an alarming history of interfering with reproductive rights and health. He ruled that bosses should be able to deny women access to birth control coverage,” wrote Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards in a fundraising letter calling for supporters to donate.

The pro-abortion organization also debuted a hashtag #NoRoeNoGo for activists to share.

Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune, described Gorsuch as “more extreme than Justice Scalia.”

“Gorsuch has proven himself hostile to environmental protection, women’s rights, and the rights of workers and cannot be trusted to protect our air, our water, or our communities,” he said in a statement.”

But as Gowdy noted in his statement, Gorsuch’s adherence to the text of the Constitution as well as the original intent of its framers is the mainstream view all judges should take.

And he completely destroyed the left’s arguments with just one tweet.
