ArrestedDemocrat suggests prosecuting Americans as Mafia criminals if they oppose him

Somewhere Hugo Chavez is smiling as he eternally burns.

Sheldon Whitehouse, a Democratic Senator from Rhode Island, took to the pages of The Washington Post to suggest rounding up and imprisoning Americans who question his political agenda.

That was not an exaggeration.

He literally wrote a newspaper column calling on the government to arrest and imprison Americans who engage in political activities that oppose him.

“In 2006, Judge Gladys Kessler of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia decided that the tobacco companies’ fraudulent campaign amounted to a racketeering enterprise,” Whitehouse sneers. “According to the court: ‘Defendants coordinated significant aspects of their public relations, scientific, legal, and marketing activity in furtherance of a shared objective — to . . . maximize industry profits by preserving and expanding the market for cigarettes through a scheme to deceive the public.’”

Whitehouse then claimed that questioning the oft-incorrect predictions of “climate scientists” is a criminal act.

“The parallels between what the tobacco industry did and what the fossil fuel industry is doing now are striking. … The coordinated tactics of the climate denial network, Brulle’s report states, ‘span a wide range of activities, including political lobbying, contributions to political candidates, and a large number of communication and media efforts that aim at undermining climate science.’ Compare that again to the findings in the tobacco case,” Whitehouse growls.

Yes, that was a United States senator claiming it is a federal crime to have an opinion that differs from his.

If faking scientific research to push a political agenda is a crime, Whitehouse may be the one who needs to hire an attorney.

In 2009, emails were leaked from the University of East Anglia’s Climatic Research Unit. The researchers were aggressively promoting the political agenda of “man-made climate change.”

What the researchers said among themselves was stunning in its honesty. They openly discussed the lack of scientific proof of their theories and collaborated on different means of fudging data and faking research to make it appear human activity was raising global temperatures.

In one email a researcher shared with others a mathematical trick that turns the planet’s declining temperatures into “man-made global warming.”

“I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) and from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline,” the researcher wrote.

Another scientist lamented the fact there is no “man-made global warming” and it would take a tremendous scam to make it appear it exists.

“The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate,” he wrote.

Like every fascist movement before it, the promises are proving empty and now environmentalists are ready to begin the mass arrests necessary to preserve their iron grip on power.
