David Daleiden came onto the scene with a bang when he and a colleague went undercover to expose Planned Parenthood’s process of selling aborted baby tissue to a company known as StemExpress for medical research.

The two went undercover in a series of meetings to discuss what some have called criminal acts of human organ sales. They recorded the experiences on hidden camera and uploaded them to YouTube under the moniker of Center for Medical Progress.

Shown in the footage were Planned Parenthood employees strategically tap- dancing around legal boundaries in an effort to secure sales to the citizen journalists. The videos in question sparked national outrage and prompted Congressional inquiries into the hidden practices of Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood wasted no time in flatly denying the allegations, claiming that the footage was doctored and manipulated in an attempt to destroy their reputation.

Since that time, Daleiden has faced constant legal action.

NBC News notes:

A Houston grand jury on Monday indicted two anti-abortion activists in connection with undercover videos shot in Texas that purported to show fetal organ sales inside a Planned Parenthood clinic.

The grand jury meanwhile declined to indict anyone from Planned Parenthood, Harris County District Attorney Devon Anderson said in a statement. Indictments were issued against David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress and self-described “citizen journalist,” for tampering with government documents, a felony, and the purchase and sale of human organs, a misdemeanor.

During the lead-up to the hearing, Daleiden issued a statement calling the suit “frivolous,” saying that the action taken against him and his colleagues was a last-ditch effort to cover up the barbaric actions of Planned Parenthood.

On Tuesday of this week, Daleiden posted on Facebook that his home in California was raided at the order of California’s Attorney General, Kamala Harris, who has been investigating Daleiden for some time.

Daleiden states that all of his footage from the sting operations on Planned Parenthood were seized, along with an untold amount of personal documents. He claims that these attacks are proof that the actions of Attorney General Harris (who has received contributions from Planned Parenthood) are politically motivated.

Daleiden issued the following statement:

“Today, the California Attorney General’s Office of Kamala Harris, who was elected with tens of thousands of dollars from taxpayer-funded Planned Parenthood, seized all video footage showing Planned Parenthood’s criminal trade in aborted baby parts, in addition to my personal information. Ironically, while seizing my First Amendment work product, they ignored documents showing the illicit scheme between StemExpress and Planned Parenthood.

This no surprise as Planned Parenthood’s ‘bought-and-paid-for’ AG has steadfastly refused to enforce the law against the baby body parts traffickers in our state, or even investigate them, while at the same time doing their bidding to harass and intimidate citizen journalists. We will pursue all remedies to vindicate our First Amendment rights.”

Daleiden’s legal adviser, Matt Heffron, issued a statement on Wednesday decrying the action taken against Daleiden:

“To storm into a private citizen’s home with a search warrant is outrageously out of proportion for the type of crime alleged. It’s a discredit to law enforcement, an oppressive abuse of government power.”

Many have claimed that this move by AG Harris is an attempt to appear like a hero to the pro-choice voter block in California leading up to her run for U.S. Senate. In fact, pro-choice voters have been lobbying her office for months to take action against Daleiden and company.

Not much is known yet about the status of law enforcement’s findings.
