Christianity and Christians endlessly find themselves in the Obama regime’s crosshairs.

The latest assault comes from the Justice Department which is prosecuting peaceful pro-life protestors.

Our First Amendment rights guarantees freedom of assembly and speech.

But in 15 states, the Obama regime is employing the 1994 Freedom of Access to Clinics Act (FACE) – which protects the entrance to clinics and houses of worship – to single out pro-life demonstrators assembling outside of clinics.

Silencing political opposition through government prosecution has been a hallmark of the Obama administration.

Obama’s IRS has routinely harassed Tea Party groups applying for nonprofit status in order to intimidate them into not going forward with political activism.

And now the long arm of the law is being manipulated by Obama regime bureaucrats to attack the faith and values of the pro-life movement.

Yet no actions under the FACE act have been taken against demonstrators outside of churches.

Senators Mike Lee and Ted Cruz fired off a letter to the Justice Department demanding answers for the double standards in play.

The Daily Signal reports:

The [Justice Department’s] brazen pursuit (and subsequent online promotion) of—at best—frivolous prosecutions in the abortion context, combined with its failure to list any prosecutions or enforcement activities in the religious worship context, gives the distinct impression of a warped and biased enforcement of FACE by the [Justice Department].

The Obama regime has taken hostility of religious liberties to a new level.

First, delegates of the convention that nominated Obama for re-election famously booed the mention of God.

Then the Obama regime and the Supreme Court fought tooth-and-nail in the Hobby Lobby case forcing people of faith to violate their deeply held spiritual beliefs to provide abortion drugs as part of the ObamaCare contraception mandate.

And ever since the Supreme Court imposed homosexual marriage in all 50 states through judicial fiat, the Obama regime has made it clear that religious liberties take a backseat to gay rights.

Speaking at a homosexual rights fundraiser in New York City, Obama declared Christians were second class citizens to homosexuals.

Breitbart reports:

“We affirm that we cherish our religious freedom and are profoundly respectful of religious traditions,” he insisted during a dramatic speech at a LGTB fundraiser in New York City on Sunday night, praising the progress made on gay rights under his administration. “But we also have to say clearly that our religious freedom doesn’t grant us the freedom to deny our fellow Americans their constitutional rights.”

So the diligence to prosecute peaceful pro-life protestors while leftists are free to run wild when demonstrating outside houses of worship should not surprise anyone.

The aggression towards Christians and their right to exercise their religious liberties has cast a dark shadow over America and our founding values.

But will the American people take this election as an opportunity change its course and restore traditional American values like our religious liberties?
