obama-bomberObama frees “shoe bomb” inventor ignoring warning he will possibly return to terrorism

Barack Obama has released Osama bin Laden’s most dangerous bomb maker from Guantanamo Bay ignoring the U.S. government’s warning, “If released, [he] will possibly reestablish extremist connections.”

Tariq Mahmoud Ahmed al Sawah is known as al Qaeda’s most notorious bomb maker and likely had advance knowledge of 9/11.

Fox News reports:

Tariq Mahmoud Ahmed al Sawah, a 58-year-old Egyptian who once taught bomb-making to al Qaeda members and created a special floating mine used to target U.S. ships, as well as the footwear explosive used by failed bomber Richard Reid, has been transferred to Bosnia, according to the Obama administration…

… “Detainee also associated with the planners and perpetrators of international terrorist attacks and other senior al Qaeda members, and may have had advanced knowledge of the 11 September 2001 attacks,” reads his dossier, which Wikileaks posted online along with hundreds of other Gitmo files…

… Andrew McCarthy, a former federal prosecutor who helped put blind Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman behind bars for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center attack, blasted both the Obama administration and Republicans for allowing the military prison in Cuba to be emptied of terror suspects.

“There is no more despicable dereliction of duty than a commander-in-chief’s replenishing of enemy forces while the enemy is still attacking our troops and plotting to mass-murder Americans,” McCarthy said.

Al Sawah has been a member of the Muslim Brotherhood since 1981 and was trained by Mushin Musa Matwalli Atwah who built the bomb that killed 17 American sailors on the USS Cole in 2000.  He has been held at Guantanamo Bay for over 13 years.

Ignoring an explicit warning issued by U.S. officials: “Detainee participated in hostilities against U.S. and Coalition forces, and is a veteran extremist combatant…” Obama released al Sawah back to Bosnia — his former radical Islamic battleground where he fought alongside Muslim radicals during the country’s civil war.

In 2006, several Bosnian al Qaeda members were arrested for smuggling 1,800 weapons into the country and al Qaeda remains alive and well in Bosnia today, with 45% of its population actively practicing the religion of Islam.

Remember the name Tariq Mahmoud Ahmed al Sawah. Tragically, you may be hearing it again all too soon.
