One of former President Barack Obama’s own presidential appointees is praising President Donald Trump for his handling of a certain situation.

While President Obama had in the past done a fair job according to this source, it is undeniable that President Trump’s actions have set the United States on what he refers to as a “better path”.

Former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates recently contrasted Donald Trump’s address to the Islamic population to that of former President Obama in 2009 – and it is undeniable whose was better.

Gates concluded that Donald Trump’s speech was not only more powerful in the wake of yet another terrorist attack claimed by an Islamic extremist group, but that Donald Trump’s speech focused on mobilizing efforts against radical Islam rather than trying to redefine the US relationship with the radical groups.

The Daily Caller reports:

Gates characterized Trump’s speech as “pretty good,” saying “this is good versus evil, you know who these people are, and drive them out.”

He continued, “one of the things I liked about the speech is the onus is placed on governments of Islamic countries” adding that these countries need to act against Islamic terrorist groups.

“They need to take steps internally and be more aggressive in rooting these people out,” Gates said of Islamic governments.

Trump’s speech emphasized to Muslim countries that “the nations of the Middle East cannot wait for American power to crush this enemy for them. The nations of the Middle East will have to decide what kind of future they want for themselves, for their countries, and for their children.” He continued, “it is a choice between two futures—and it is a choice America CANNOT make for you.”

Obama’s speech conversely declared “I have come here to seek a new beginning between the United States and Muslims around the world; one based upon mutual interest and mutual respect; and one based upon the truth that America and Islam are not exclusive, and need not be in competition.”

In all reality, President Trump’s view of the situation focuses on taking action against Islamic radicalism, rather than simply trying to ignore the situation and hope it gets better like Obama wanted to.

In the wake of yet another devastating loss of life caused by Islamic extremists, it is time someone takes action against those threatening innocents – and President Trump seems to be taking charge.

Whose speech did you like more? President Trump’s or former President Obama’s?
