Nancy Pelosi continues her attacks on Donald Trump.
And she kept up with that drumbeat in her latest interview.
But it may just be her most outrageous attack yet.
Appearing on ABC’s This Week, Pelosi was asked her thoughts about Trump’s first month in office.
She blasted Trump’s performance.
Of course, this was expected since she is the Democrat leader in the House of Representatives.
However, her comments were rambling and the nature of her attack left some questioning her grip on reality.
“House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi dismissed President Donald Trump’s first month in office on Sunday, arguing that he’s “done nothing.”
Speaking to ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on “This Week,” Pelosi accused Trump of talking about what she argued were less pressing issues — namely, his attacks on the press and immigrants and his administration’s stance on what bathrooms transgender schoolchildren should use — to avoid drawing attention to the fact that he has not yet introduced a jobs bill.
Trump has signed a series of executive actions since coming into office and held meetings with various groups of business leaders, and the White House says it is working on its health care and tax reform plans. Still, Pelosi was largely dismissive of his accomplishments.
“I call him the deflector in chief,” said the California Democrat. “He has no jobs bill, so he has got to talk about the press. He has no jobs bill, so he has to talk about kids, transgender kids in school. He has no jobs bill, so he has to talk about immigrants and have a ban on Muslims” entering the United States.”
While Trump has been attacked on many fronts, few would accuse him of “doing nothing.”
In fact, some pundits question whether Trump has acted on too many fronts.
But Trump – and his supporters – dismiss these criticisms, stating he is simply fulfilling his campaign promises.
In fact, in just his first month in office, Trump has enacted significant achievements.
He signed an executive order that gutted the enforcement of Obamacare.
He put policies in place to crack down on illegal immigration and begin the construction of the border wall along Mexico.
And another executive order directed federal agencies to eliminate two regulations for every one regulation they enforce.
He also kept his promise to conservatives and nominated Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court.
But facts and logic have never stopped Pelosi before.
She famously once said that Congress needed to pass Obamacare so everyone could find out what was in it.
And now she’s keeping that up in her attacks on Trump.
