Since leaving Fox News, one mystery has hovered over Megyn Kelly’s career.

And pundits and experts have debated the answer.

But Kelly just made a major announcement and put all the questions to rest.

When Kelly left Fox News for NBC, she was promised a daytime talk show.

But no one knew when it would air.

A big hint was dropped when NBC canceled the Today Talk hour hosted by Tamron Hall and Al Roker.

Pundits speculated that was the natural timeslot for Kelly’s new show.

Others thought because of Kelly’s massive contract she might be moved to the main Today Show and ease out co-host Savannah Guthrie.

But all the speculation was put to rest when NBC announced Kelly’s show would air at 9am.

The Hollywood Reporter writes:

“Megyn Kelly’s upcoming NBC News morning show will replace the 9 a.m. hour of the Today show, according to an NBC News spokesperson.

The decision comes as Kelly is readying an interview with the Kardashian family, including Kim Kardashian West. It won’t be the reality TV star’s first sit-down since being robbed at gunpoint in Paris last fall. Kardashian West recently appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ daytime show, during which she said she is “such a different person.” The interview is likely to air during the first week of Kelly’s daytime show, which is slated for September. Her Sunday night newsmagazine will get a trial run beginning in June. Dateline executives David Crovo and Liz Cole will lead that effort.

Also possibly on tap for Kelly is an interview with Vladimir Putin; NBC News chairman Andrew Lack reportedly made a recent trip to Russia to negotiate a sit-down with the country’s leader.

NBC News has yet to announce an executive producer for Kelly’s morning show. NBC News president Noah Oppenheim said that the current staff on the 9 a.m. hour of Today will make up the core of Kelly’s staff, though he did not rule out bringing in some people who worked with Kelly at Fox News. But Oppenheim did stress that there is no discussion about Kelly having a regular role on the flagship 7-9 a.m. block co-anchored by Savannah Guthrie and Matt Lauer.”

Even this move was not without controversy.

Tamron Hall quit NBC rather than take another assignment after her show was canceled.

The New York Post reports:

“Tamron Hall’s decision to leave NBC News after her show was axed to make way for new star Megyn Kelly sent shockwaves through the TV world — and a 30 Rock insider told Page Six Hall walked away leaving “multiple millions” on the table.

“Tamron was offered a multiyear, multimillion-dollar deal to stay at the ‘Today’ show and she turned it down,” the insider said. “People inside NBC were shocked. They expected her to stay,” a source said.

Hall’s relationship with NBC soured when the network canceled her top-rated morning show “Today’s Take,” which she co-hosted with Al Roker, to create a slot for Kelly. Hall found out she was being ousted minutes before she went on air last Friday. “She was devastated to get the news. It was almost an Ann Curry moment live again on TV. It was surreal,” another insider told us.”

But Kelly is no stranger to turmoil.

She became a household name during the 2016 campaign for her anti-Trump debate questions and subsequent feud with the GOP nominee.
