There is no doubt the media is a large influence in the political world.

But throughout President Trump’s political career, leftist media has been trying to defame the President by posting fake news stories about him and his fellow conservatives.

Steve Bannon recently stated he believes the media is a third-party trying to bring the President down — and he may be onto something.

Shortly after, political commentator Pat Buchanan interviewed with “The Steve Malzberg Show” and agreed the media has been attempting to denounce the President’s authority since day one.

Breitbart News reported:

Buchanan said, “There is a cultural left and a political left and a media if you will, are a conglomerate. It’s not a conspiracy but it is collusion, and they were determined to break and bring down Nixon from the day he was nominated. They were determined, tried to break, and they succeeded. Tried to break and bring down Reagan over Iran-Contra. I was in the White House then. And the same forces, similar forces are trying to break and bring down Trump. And it’s transparent. It’s right in front of us. You can’t watch those briefings and things, watch TV cable TV and the rest of it without seeing there is a real animus. I mean it’s the White House correspondents’ dinner. Steve Bannon was dead right when he said one thing, the media are the opposition party.”

Buchanan compared the situation to that of President Nixon, who was a controversial president, but still an effective one.

President Trump has been quick to call out the media on their opposition, however.

Traditionally, the media remains a large part of the executive world, but President Trump keeps a close watch on media leaks and other potential publicity hazards.

He also uses social media (namely Twitter) to keep a direct line to the American people rather than going through media outlets or another third party.

Politico reported:

“[I] respect them as much as anybody,” Trump said of certain unspecified media figures. “So I’m not talking about everybody, but a big portion of the media — the dishonesty, total deceit and deception makes them certainly partially the opposition party, absolutely.”

He added that the media are “much more capable” than the actual opposition party, the rebuilding Democratic Party that largely expected a Hillary Clinton victory on Election Day. Trump said the Democratic Party “is losing badly” but has the media on its side.

“And I actually said to myself, I say, ‘They treat me so unfairly it’s hard to believe that I won,’” he recalled telling himself. “But the fortunate thing about me is I have a big voice. I have a voice that people understand.”

Ultimately, liberal media outlets will always try to upend conservative politics.

President Trump should continue to keep a direct link towards his citizens, and conservative media outlets should continue to focus on providing real news for the American people, not self-serving liberal lies.
