A Reston Virginia woman did not expect her trip to Trader Joe’s to result in threats to her family.

The unidentified woman was caught on a cell phone camera held by a Muslim woman.

According to the woman being recorded, and without her consent, a Muslim lady had been previously ranting that “America is full of evil murderers and rapists” – however that part was not included in the posted video.

The encounter between the two anonymous women went viral when comedian Jeremy McLellan posted the video on Facebook in an attempt to shame the woman caught on video.

The ambush video was posted on Facebook by McLellan, who said:

“A friend of mine (who wishes to remain anonymous) just sent this to me. I’ve confirmed that it’s real. This happened today at the Trader Joe’s in Reston, VA. This woman was in a hurry so my friend (who is a Muslim woman) offered to let her go in front of her in line. That’s when she started talking bad about a different Muslim woman in the store (who was wearing niqab) and asking my friend why she didn’t cover as well. My friend replied it was a choice and the woman didn’t believe her and started talking about FGM* and telling her “I wish they didn’t let you in the country.” That’s when my friend started filming.

Enjoy. Let’s make this lady famous.

(MEDIA: My friend has decided not to give any interviews. However, she says you may air the video as long as you give proper credit and ID her only as a friend of mine.)”

*FGM = Female Genital Mutilation

Here is the clip the Muslim woman chose to release:

If you notice at the end of the recording, McLellan’s friend says, “You look a little crazy. Maybe you need to get some help.”

“Oh I’m fine,” the woman says.

“No, you’re not,” McLellan’s friend counters. “Because you don’t just strike up a conversation with people in line talking about stuff like that if you’re normal.”

Laughing, the woman responds, “I’m very normal.”

“Yeah, looks like it. I can tell,” McLellan’s friend says.

Fox 5 reports:

“But the woman seen in the video making those statements tells a different story. She called FOX 5 on Monday and talked to reporter Anjali Hemphill over the phone, but would not give her name or allow the interview to be recorded.

The woman told FOX 5 she is extremely upset because the video was taken out of context, and it does not show what led up to the portion of the encounter that’s now gone viral.

She claims the Muslim woman on the other side of the camera actually ambushed her, making “strong statements” about the U.S., like that it’s full of murderers and rapists. She says that happened before the recording started, and the conversation escalated from there.

The woman told FOX 5 she’s now seeking legal representation, and she and her family are receiving threats as a result of the video.”

The liberal media has run wild with this video, propagating that this is somehow proof of the widespread anti-Muslim sentiment in the country.

Some news outlets have called the encounter a “racist rant”, while others characterized the woman in the video as an out of control Trump supporter.

A quick Google search shows the following headlines:

  • Trader Joes, spouting hate and unfiltered racist comments to theMuslim
  • Anti-Muslim rant at Trader Joe’s in Reston watched 3.7M times
  • Muslim shopper harassed at Trader Joe’s – The Arab American News
  • Woman Goes On Racist Rant Against Muslim Woman In Trader Joe’s

When you watched the video, did you see a ‘spewing, harassing rant’? The woman is not raising her voice, meanwhile the woman recording is highly accusatory and condescending.

To show how these viral videos can be made and taken out of context, take the strange case of “Hugh Mungus.”

Rudy Pantoja just finished an interview stating support for a new police station.  He was also thanking the Seattle police for getting his heroin-addicted daughter off the streets and into treatment.

Self-styled social justice warrior Zarna Joshi ambushed him, demanding to know his name, apparently enraged that the media was talking to him and not her.

Mr. Pantoja said he was feeling particularly fat that day after his large breakfast and made a joke that he was “humongous” aka Hugh Mungus.

While Pantoja says he was making fun of his stomach, Joshi thought otherwise.

On the video, Ms. Joshi started ranting that Pataja was sexually harassing her.  As you can see in the video, things escalated from there.

Because only part of the video initially aired, Mr. Pantoja was attacked by the political left as a pervert who sexually abused a woman.

But when the entirety of the video was leaked, cooler heads prevailed and he became a folk hero of sorts who used his notoriety to raise $150,000 for a drug rehab center which had helped his daughter.
