Despite the fact that an AR-15 rifle was not even used by the Islamic terrorist in the Orlando shooting, members of the D.C. elite have taken it upon themselves to push for an AR-15 ban.

To make matters worse, the regressive left has found a new ally for their AR-15 ban: Fox News’ Gretchen Carlson.

Carlson, a longtime Fox News contributor, went on a Twitter spree, further criticizing AR-15s and pointing out her own daughter’s gun-grabbing attempts with a Newtown charity.

AR-15s are not needed to “hunt or kill deer,” Carlson stated, and suggested they only serve to allow terrorists to carry out their attacks with greater efficiency.

Despite the fact that the Second Amendment doesn’t mention “hunt or kill deer,” Carslon doubled-down on her wish to bar law-abiding citizens from their constitutional right.

Carlson’s flair for the dramatic is in line with leftist reporter Gersh Kuntzman, who recently wrote a column in the New York Daily News.

After the Orlando shooting, Kuntzman traveled to Philadelphia to “better understand” weapons like the AR-15.

“It felt to me like a bazooka — and sounded like a cannon,” Kuntzman claimed. “I was just terrified.”

Kuntzman even claims the recoil of the AR-15 bruised his shoulder, disoriented him and the smell of sulfur and destruction “made me sick.”

The most ridiculous part of it all?

Kuntzman said, “the explosions — loud, like a bomb — gave me a temporary form of PTSD. For at least an hour after firing the gun just a few times, I was anxious and irritable.”

Yes, Kuntzman claims to have suffered from PTSD, a disorder that plagues American military men and women who’ve served months, and sometimes years, overseas fighting terrorists.

Hopefully Kuntzman and his liberal pals don’t ever shoot a shotgun.

What Kuntzman or Carlson won’t do is blame government mandated “gun free zones” for these mass shootings.

Virtually every public mass shooting since 1950, with the exception of a handful, have occurred in “gun free zones.”

In these locations, law-abiding citizens are legally barred from carrying a weapon for self-defense, while would-be murderers ignore the ban.

A significant number of the shooters from past shootings have even passed federal background checks, as did the Orlando shooter.

Despite this, the regressive left and even some on the right are calling for outright gun confiscation.

At a time when radical Islamic terrorists are seeking to kill Americans on American soil, the greatest national security risk would seem to be disarming the American people, leaving them defenseless.
