Democrats hate Donald Trump.

They don’t see him as a legitimate President.

But barely one month into his term as President, some Democrats are already plotting a big move to impeach him.

Congresswoman Maxine Waters (D-CA) has stated her goal is to walk Trump into his own impeachment.

CNN reports she expanded on her comments:

“I have not called for the impeachment yet. He’s doing it himself,” Waters said when asked about the statement at a news conference. “Let me just say that the statement I made is a statement in response to questions and pleas that I’m getting from many citizens across this country. What are we going to do? How can we have a President who is acting in the manner that he’s acting?”

Waters said that she’s concerned with Trump’s travel ban executive order, “the way he’s talking about Muslims” and his friendly relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

She also incorrectly said that Trump “is wrapping his arms around Putin, while Putin is continuing to advance into Korea” — apparently meaning to reference the Crimea.

“I think that he’s leading himself in that kind of position, where folks are going to ask, ‘What are we going to do?’ and the answer is going to be, ‘Eventually, we’ve got to do something about him,'” she said. “We cannot continue to have a President who’s acting in this manner. It’s dangerous to the United States of America.”

Waters isn’t the only Democrat making noises about impeachment.

Boyd Roberts – a Democrat running to unseat Republican Dana Rohrabacher – has filed paperwork to set up an Impeach Trump PAC.

The Hill reports:

A Democratic congressional candidate filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to create the Impeach Trump Leadership PAC.

Boyd Roberts, a California Democrat, submitted paperwork to the FEC that was received on Monday to establish the leadership PAC, a political action committee meant to raise money that will be donated to help other candidates and lawmakers…

…Some Democrats have already floated attempting to impeach Trump. Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-Texas) said earlier this month Congress should consider impeaching him if he told agencies to ignore a judge’s stay on parts of his travel ban.

If the Democrats win control of Congress in 2018, impeachment will be on the table.

Their radical base that insists on 100 percent resistance to Trump will demand nothing less.

So far, Nancy Pelosi has tried to tamp down talk of impeachment.

While privately she may believe Democrats should impeach Trump, she knows public talk about removing the President will only make the party look extreme and energize Republican voters ahead of the 2018 midterms.
