Donald Trump’s election heralded a populist wave that swept over the West.

The next test will be in Europe to dismantle the global establishment.

And one computer’s artificial intelligence system is predicting their stunning defeat.

The Presidential election in France has attracted global attention.

National Front Leader, Marine Le Pen, is locked in a tight three-way race.

The top two candidates in the first round of voting advance to a runoff.

While Le Pen finished third in the first round of voting in 2012, her populist candidacy has gained new steam in 2017.

She has advocated for leaving the European Union, securing France’s borders against mass migration to preserve their native culture, and for France to adopt their own currency.

Her “Made in France” theme is an offshoot of Donald Trump’s iconic “Make America Great Again” slogan.

Fueled by anger over open borders and mass Islamic migration, Le Pen is counting on the same nationalist forces that propelled Britain to leave the European Union and elected Donald Trump President of the United States.

And one major investment firm’s artificial intelligence system says she will do just that – and it would send shockwaves to the global establishment.

CNBC reports:

“Marine Le Pen is on course to be the next president of France, according to one fund manager’s big-data analysis.

Arun Kant, chief executive and chief investment officer at Singapore-based investing firm Leonie Hill Capital, told CNBC he expected the right-wing populist to prevail thanks to his firm’s proprietary artificial intelligence (AI) system’s analysis of troves of data.

His analysis — which he said incorporates inputs such as social and traditional media discussions, polling, economics and demographics — predicts that Le Pen will “walk over” her opponents in the first electoral test and then prove most forecasters wrong and steal the lead in the second ballot, Kant said.

The French vote is split into two phases, with the top two candidates from the April 23 round due to face each other in a second run-off on May 7. In the running alongside 48-year old Le Pen are former economy minister and independent candidate Emmanuel Macron, conservative ex-prime minister Francois Fillon and socialist Benoit Hamon.”

Conventional wisdom – and current polling – suggests that in the second round, the establishment’s left and right voters will team up to deny Le Pen the Presidency.

But Kant does not believe that to be the case.

He predicts that once Le Pen makes the runoff, momentum and the populist wave will sweep her to victory.

CNBC also reports:

“Kant’s AI program predicts that Le Pen would take 28 percent of the vote in the first round, he said, which would best 16.4 percent for Fillon, and 19 to 20 percent for Macron.

Current inputs are pointing to a Macron victory in the second round — 52.3 percent to 47.7 for Le Pen — Kant said, but he added that he expects the right-wing politician to gain considerable ground after a first round victory.

“If she wins the first round, this dynamic will change,” he said, noting the similarities between the populist appeal of Le Pen and President Donald Trump.

And with this predicted momentum, Le Pen will likely win the presidency, Kant said.”

A Le Pen victory would be a catastrophic defeat for the globalist establishment.

She would almost certainly call for a referendum on France leaving the European Union.

If France were to do so, the EU would likely collapse.
