No media outlet has taken as stridently an anti-Trump posture as CNN.
The network routinely calls Trump a liar and uses snarky on-screen graphics to disparage the President.
But one recent poll must have left staffers and executives up in arms at the failure of their campaign.
The media believes itself to be the sole arbiter of truth and facts in America.
If they report on something – then it must be true.
If they question a public official – then they’re obviously a liar.
But are the American people still buying what the so-called “mainstream” media is selling – since now they’ve largely abandoned all pretense of objectivity?
A new Fox News poll suggests the answer is no.
More people find Donald Trump credible than they do the so-called “mainstream” media.
“Voters are nearly split on who they trust more, the Trump administration or the media, according to a new poll released Friday, with a slim plurality having more faith in the president’s officials to “tell the public the truth” than the reporters who cover them.
The Fox News poll found that 45 percent trusted “government officials” under President Donald Trump to tell the public the truth over news outlets. Some 42 percent trusted news outlets over Trump officials, with 10 percent trusting neither.
The results were vastly skewed along partisan lines, with 81 percent of Republicans trusting the administration over the media and 79 percent of Democrats deferring to news organizations over the White House. Twice as many independents trusted the president’s team over the press, 52 percent to 26 percent. Sixteen percent of independents trusted neither.”
Another of the polls’ findings could shed light on why more people believe Trump than the press.
Voters say that the press went easier on Obama than Trump.
Politico also reports:
“A large majority of voters also agreed that media scrutiny of Trump has been harsher than that of former President Barack Obama. Sixty-eight percent of participants said coverage of Trump was tougher, with 92 percent of Republicans agreeing. Independents in large also shared that view, with 74 percent agreeing, while only 42 percent of Democrats said coverage of Trump was tougher than that of Obama.”
Voters can see through the games the press is playing.
A largely liberal press corps heaped glowing coverage on Obama.
Now that Trump has succeeded him, liberal activists in the press are trying to destroy Trump – the same way they do every Republican President.
CNN has turned itself it a 24/7 anti-Trump machine.
But the only credibility they are destroying is their own.
In fact, CBS Face the Nation host, John Dickerson, recently said the media has no one to blame but themselves for their own low standing.
The Washington Free Beacon reports on Dickerson’s comments made in an interview with radio host Hugh Hewitt:
“Hewitt asked if it is true that there is no confidence in America’s media elite.
“Yes, it’s true, and it’s not because of anything obviously Donald Trump did,” Dickerson said. “The press did all that good work ruining its reputation on its own and we can have a long conversation about what created that.”
Dickerson went on to say that the press had overhyped many little stories about Trump, leading to many other reports not being viewed with much credibility by the American people. The CBS host also said that the media must represent the American people to the president when asking questions.”
No network better fits the description Dickerson laid out than CNN.
Their relentlessly hostile news may play well on social media, but their lack of objectivity and anti-Trump bias is why fewer and fewer Americans are believing what they see on TV.
