While it’s common knowledge Hillary Clinton lost her presidential bid in 2016, the real reasons she lost are more shocking than previously reported.

And research has now shown the truth of what led to her political demise.

A recent study released by political science researchers has proven just how badly Hillary Clinton’s campaign was run – and not even the disgraced candidate may realize the true cause of her downfall.

The study showed that Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign for the presidency was one of the most poorly planned campaigns in political history.

A new academic study analyzing the 2016 presidential election has determined that Hillary Clinton and her multitude of handlers ran a deplorably awful campaign that was probably the worst campaign for national office in the modern political era. The study — entitled “Political Advertising in 2016: The Presidential Election as Outlier?” — suggests that the biggest reason Clinton lost was because she decided she did not need to advertise in several critically important states and that, when she did advertise, her ads failed to address substantive political issues. Essentially, what the study addresses is that Clinton did not focus on campaigning on several key states- simply because they did not matter to her.

Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are three key states in any political campaign due to their size and political hold.

But there was almost zero campaigning evident in those states by Clinton or her party up until a few short weeks before the election.

The trio of political science researchers behind the study — Erika Franklin Fowler, Michael M. Franz, and Travis N. Ridout — observe that Clinton did not run a significant number of advertisements in three key states — Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan — until the very last, waning days of her 2016 campaign. In Michigan and Wisconsin, for example, the Clinton campaign ran almost zero ads until just days before Election Day. Then, a few days just because the election, the number of ads Clinton ran in both Michigan and Wisconsin skyrocketed from virtually zero to over 6,000 and over 4,000 respectively.

More importantly, the study addressed the concern of many Americans – that the Democratic candidate did not care about key policy issues, only about having power as a corrupt leader.

A second reason Clinton lost, the researchers say, is because she almost utterly failed to address actual, substantive policy issues in her campaign advertisements and instead mostly either criticized Trump or spoke about herself in glowing terms. Clinton spent fully 65 percent of her advertising time either criticizing Trump in personal terms or yammering on about herself, according to the professors. Ultimately, Clinton lost due to her unappealing nature perceived by many Americans.

Her campaign focused only on giving attention to the states she thought were important ones.

Furthermore, her entire political platform was essentially based on her trying to demoralize now President Trump.

And look where she landed as a result.

However, one thing is for sure, her legacy as having the worst political campaign ever is one that will go down in history.

Message matters, and a message repeated endlessly does no good unless it resonates with a sufficient number of the right voters. Team Clinton’s message that Trump was unfit for the presidency may not have been enough.”
