A friend and avid supporter of Hillary Clinton was just caught red-handed.

EPA Contractor Bernadette Hyland went on a social media rampage with information that government data would be blacked out from the internet.

But the most ridiculous aspect of the claim is Clinton and her followers pushed fake news and expected people to actually believe their incredulous claims.

Hyland, as an EPA contractor and close ally of Hillary Clinton, claimed her story had credibility due to her proximity both to Clinton and a government agency.

She claimed the Trump administration would try to erase public climate data.

And Hyland single-handedly caused a mess on social media, with thousands of Clinton followers spreading the fake news.

The Daily Caller reported:

On Sunday night, reporters started tweeting pictures of a notice placed on Opendata.epa.gov put there by a contractor. The notice read: “This site will be shutting down Friday, April 28.”

Hyland wrote EPA told her company “we need to be ready to turn-off the EPA Open Data web service by noon on April 28, 2017 — the last day of the current continuing resolution. If Congress does not pass a budget, we will be facing a government shutdown and won’t be able to give technical direction to continue any work.”

But the EPA avidly denied any rumors that there will be an erasure of data and called Hillary and her followers on their lies.

The Daily Caller reported:

“This is a contractor sending inappropriate and unauthorized communications on EPA’s behalf,” EPA spokesman J.P. Freire said in an emailed statement to The Daily Caller News Foundation.

“The website isn’t going anywhere and this episode has little to nothing to do with contingency plans in case of a shutdown,” Freire said.

Hyland later praised her efforts to an independent U.K. media site.

She mentioned how she believed social media had a huge role to play in the situation.

But ultimately, liberals pounced on an opportunity to denounce any act of Trump they could, even if it was a blatant lie.

The Daily Caller reported:

Hyland told Mashable the last 24 hours was the best example of “social media working in a positive way to have a positive outcome that I’ve ever personally experienced.”

“I think we benefitted in a way from that momentum,” said Hyland, who runs a company that benefits from EPA spending on open data.

Eventually, the mastermind of the plot tried to deny any doubts people may have had about the truth by playing dumb about the situation.

The Daily Caller reported:

Hyland eventually updated her blog post with EPA’s statement. She wrote: “Good news alert! EPA won’t be shutting down its open data website after all.”

As incredulous as the initial claim was, it is not hard to believe liberals blew a fake news story into what they probably hoped to be a huge scandal.

Throughout the election, Clinton was the ringmaster of many fake news stories, and now the sore loser is still encouraging her followers to come up with incredible claims in an attempt to denounce the Republican President and Congress.
