In the wake of FBI Director James Comey’s firing, Democrat Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer raced to the TV cameras.

He thundered on about cover-ups and how firing Comey has created a crisis.

But there was just one big problem.

Schumer previously blasted Comey and claimed he had lost confidence in the FBI Director months ago.

Just one week before the November election, Schumer ripped Comey for his late October announcement that the FBI had reopened the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server.

Bloomberg reported at the time:

“Senate Democratic leader-in-waiting Chuck Schumer said Wednesday he’s lost confidence in FBI Director James Comey over his handling of the most recent disclosure in the Hillary Clinton e-mail investigation — a tough rebuke to a man Schumer has long admired.

“I do not have confidence in him any longer,” said the New York Democrat, who has criticized as “appalling” Comey’s decision to send a letter to lawmakers 11 days before the election disclosing the bureau’s new review of e-mails potentially pertinent to the investigation of Clinton’s private server.

“To restore my faith, I am going to have to sit down and talk to him and get an explanation for why he did this,” Schumer said in an interview.”

But when Trump did what Schumer presumably would’ve liked to see happen – namely firing Comey – Schumer accused Trump of a cover up.

Fox News reports:

“Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-New York) slammed President Trump’s decision to fire FBI Director James Comey.

“Mister President, with all due respect, you’re making a big mistake,” Schumer said he told Trump, adding that the president “didn’t really answer” his comment.

“Why now?” Schumer asked during a televised press briefing after the White House announced Comey’s firing.”

Schumer’s feelings about Jim Comey were clearly dictated by the politics of the moment.

And Trump was not about to let the double standard pass him up, so he destroyed Schumer in two tweets.

Democrats are used to Republicans curling up in a fetal position and crying “Uncle” whenever they’re attacked.

But Trump is a counterpuncher and he hit Schumer and the Democrats back twice as hard for their hypocrisy when they cried crocodile tears over Comey’s firing.
