White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest has made a stunning admission.
He claimed Donald Trump knew about the Russians “hacking the election”.
And many are outraged at the Obama White House leveling the most serious charge possible at Donald Trump.
So much for a smooth transition of power.
Democrats – led by Barack Obama – have grabbed onto the idea that hacking by the Russians influenced the election and helped elect Donald Trump.
This has led to a full-court press on both the Electoral College to flip their votes and deny Trump the Presidency and the media to delegitimize Trump’s victory.
The Obama White House is doing their part as well.
The White House Press Secretary argued in a briefing that Trump knew about the Russian hacking and invited them to hack Hillary Clinton.
“Citing Trump’s own suggestion over the summer that Moscow locate missing emails from Hillary Clinton’s private server, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said the beneficiary of Russia’s cyberintrusions was clear.
“There was ample evidence that was known long before the election, and in most cases long before October, about the Trump campaign in Russia, everything from the Republican nominee himself calling on Russia to hack his opponent,” Earnest said. “It might be an indication that he was obviously aware and concluded, based on whatever facts or sources he had available to him, that Russia was involved and their involvement was having a negative impact on his opponent’s campaign.”
Earnest was speaking as the extent of Russia’s interference in the US election is coming into clearer focus. The CIA has told a group of top US senators that Russia’s hacking was aimed at helping Trump, a finding that’s caused angst among some Democrats, who believe the White House should have provided more details about the hacking ahead of the election.”
Critics argue this is as tantamount as accusing Trump of treason.
They also note there is little chance Earnest would make such statements without being cleared by higher authorities in the administration – whom may include Obama.
Obama never reprimanded Earnest for his comments, so they were obviously made with his approval.
But former Trump campaign manager Kellyanne Conway fired back at Earnest.
The Daily Caller reports:
“That is breathtaking,” Conway stated after watching the clip of Earnest’s statement. “I guess he’s auditioning to be a political pundit after his job is over soon.”
“That is incredibly disappointing to hear from the podium of the White House press secretary because he essentially stated that the president-elect had knowledge of this, maybe even fanned the flames. It’s incredibly irresponsible, and I wonder if his boss, President Obama, agrees.”
Democrats are unable to come to terms with the fact that they lost.
They have blamed so-called “fake news” media for being too mean to Hillary, Russian hackers, and pushed for recounts.
And in the days after the election, the left even took to the streets to stage violent riots.
The results of the election were decisive.
Trump won 306 Electoral College votes and won outside the margin in key states that were reversible under recounts.
But rather than look inward and examine the failed Obama policies that led to a massive repudiation in the 2016 election, the left has tried to undermine confidence in the American electoral system and steal the election at the Electoral College vote through threats and smear campaigns.
