It’s no secret that President Donald Trump is becoming an incredibly polarizing figure. It seems like people either love him or they hate him, with very little in-between.

Even those who love him have been saying he makes a mistake or two. Heck, nobody’s perfect.

However, former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon has a lot to say about what he believes is President Trump’s biggest mistake ever.

During an interview on Sunday, Bannon was able to chat with 60 Minutes and discuss his feelings about the president. He also had a chance to clarify one of the rumors that have been circulating about his feelings toward Trump’s actions – particularly the decision to fire James Comey.

According to The Hill, Bannon said that he feels this decision to fire Comey was “the biggest mistake in modern political history.”

Bannon said that if Trump had not fired Comey, he would not be under investigation for having Russian interference in the election.

“I don’t think there’s any doubt that if James Comey had not been fired, we would not have a special counsel,” Bannon said, referring to Robert Mueller.

Bannon also believes that, if Comey was still around, they would not have to deal with the Mueller investigation either.

However, Bannon stated that he doesn’t “believe firing Comey would have changed the “institutional logic of the FBI and particularly in regards to an investigation.”
