It didn’t take long for Hillary Clinton to weigh in on the NFL’s anti-American national anthem protests.

But it was what she said that turned heads across America.

She defended the protests and fired a jaw dropping warning at Trump.

Clinton weighed in on players disrespecting the flag by playing the race card.

She also said Democrats should use the protests to mobilize voters to win the 2018 and 2020 elections.

The New York Post reports:

“Hillary Clinton defended NFL players who kneel during the national anthem – saying President Trump’s attacks against them exemplify his “very clear dog whistles” to his base,” according to a report.

The former Democratic presidential candidate, who was in London to promote her book “What Happened,” urged Democrats to use the issue against Trump, Fox News reported.

“That’s what black athletes kneeling was all about,” she said in response to a question about ways to resist the White House. ”That’s not against our anthem or our flag.”

“Actually, kneeling is a reverent position,” she continued. “It was to demonstrate in a peaceful way against racism and injustice in our criminal system.”

Clinton urged the Democratic Party to continue to “resist” the president.

“I think it would be a grave error for Democrats to recede from those fights, so therefore we have to stand up, fight back, resist,” she said at the Southbank Centre’s London Literature Festival.”

But actually the protest is about disrespecting the flag.

When he first began to kneel for the anthem, Colin Kaepernick said it was because he could not stand for a flag that symbolized oppressing black people.

When asked about her comments, Donald Trump egged on Democrats to take up this losing cause.

Trump said embracing radical racial politics only alienated Democrats from voters in Middle America and helped lead to a defeat political pundits never saw coming.

Fox News reports:

“President Trump hammered Hillary Clinton on Monday for her defense of NFL players protesting the national anthem, saying that kind of “thinking” is why she lost the election.

In a joint White House press conference with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., Trump was asked about Clinton’s latest comments on players who “take a knee.”

“Well—that’s why she lost the election. I mean, honestly, it’s that thinking—that is the reason she lost the election,” Trump responded.

Trump, in turn, suggested the response helps better explain her 2016 loss.

“I mean, look, there are a lot of reasons that she didn’t win, including the fact that she was not good at what she did,” Trump said Monday. “But I will tell you, that is something that I had just heard about and I think her statement, in itself, is very disrespectful to our country.”

Encouraging players to spit on the graves of veterans and kneel for the anthem may play well with the Democrats kooky base.

But by wrapping their arms around the America-hating football players and their anti-American protests, they are sealing their own fate in 2018 and 2020.
