20488048_s-200x300The Supreme Court has been in the news quite a bit lately.

And almost none of the stories involving the 9 justices are encouraging.

As you know, they first voted to uphold the ACA, saying states could could continue to offer the ACA to people even if they had no viable healthcare exchange.

Then of course they voted to sanction same-sex marriage across all 50 states, thereby nullifying the states’ right to decide how to treat marriage.

And now they’ve voted that it is not legal to require proof of citizenship in order for a person to vote for any office.

How ironic, the judicial branch who swears to uphold justice, would strike down requirements asking for justice in voting procuedures

By deciding not to hear the case “Kobach, et al. v. Election Assistance Commission”, The Supreme Court effectively said the only thing required of a potential voter is they simply swear under penalty of perjury they’re a citizen and they’ll be able to vote for whomever they choose.  Even if that person is an immigrant who is not native to this country.

By all appearances it looks like the Democrats have won yet another victory over conservatives, and in the process made the constitution to resemble a special brand of toilet paper more than it does a contract to help the United States be governed fairly.

University of California Irvine Law Professor Rick Hasen wrote on his election law blog “This is a very big deal…Kobach had the potential to shift more power away from the federal government in administering elections toward the states.”

Truth is the federal government is busy gobbling up many of the powers enumerated to the states and SCOTUS has been no friend to state powers in the process.

They’ve taken it upon themselves to legislate and to interfere with the proper function of government at the state level, and this is disturbing because the trend sees no sign in stopping.

When it comes to voting Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach said “Our position in court is that we’re exercising our state’s right to define the qualifications of electors…By creating this loophole, the federal agency is interfering.”

In truth it’s just another power grab enacted by the progressives of the country.

The leftists know if they can hobble voter qualifications to the lowest possible level then it opens up an entire pool of voters they wouldn’t otherwise (legally) have access to.

The Democrats have long been some of the worst at committing voter fraud with a laundry list of offenses, including using the names of deceased voters to help get members elected. This time they’ve only managed to circumnavigate the law via interference from the Supreme Court.

A true miscarriage of justice if there has ever been one.
