The Obama administration spying on the Trump campaign was the worst scandal in American political history.

But up until now, no one had confessed to abusing their power.

That changed when Susan Rice confessed to a disgusting violation when she testified to Congress.

In the spring, news broke that Susan Rice had requested the unmasking of Trump officials that had been caught up in surveillance.

Deep State operatives had been illegally leaking the names of Trump associates caught up in wiretapping of foreign nationals as well as the nature of their conversations.

But how did they get their names?

When an American is caught up in foreign surveillance, their name is redacted to protect their Fourth Amendment right to privacy.

Their identity can be revealed but only if authorized government officials request it for legitimate intelligence purposes.

Only 20 officials in the government have the authority to request the unmasking of Americans so the circle of suspects who facilitated these illegal leaks is small.

When news broke that Susan Rice was one of the Obama officials who requested the unmasking of Trump officials, Republicans in Congress immediately demanded she testify to explain herself.

She finally met with the House Intelligence Committee behind closed doors and admitted she unmasked Trump officials during the transition.

CNN reported:

“Former national security adviser Susan Rice privately told House investigators that she unmasked the identities of senior Trump officials to understand why the crown prince of the United Arab Emirates was in New York late last year, multiple sources told CNN.

The New York meeting preceded a separate effort by the UAE to facilitate a back-channel communication between Russia and the incoming Trump White House.

The crown prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan, arrived in New York last December in the transition period before Trump was sworn into office for a meeting with several top Trump officials, including Michael Flynn, the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, and his top strategist Steve Bannon, sources said.”

Conservatives blasted Rice for engaging in an abuse of power.

The incoming Trump administration has every right to hold meetings with foreign leaders and chart their own policy course.

Rice’s political espionage showed the Obama administration was always intent on sabotaging the Trump administration from day one.
