A Republican senator recently came forward denouncing the President for a medical issue that prevented him from serving in the military.

This particular senator frequently opposes President Trump’s decisions not only in Congress but in every aspect of the government.

But his comments have backfired as many are furious and are calling for action to be taken against the Senator— including a resignation.

Arizona Senator John McCain took a swipe at President Trump in an interview with C-CPAN3, claiming the President dodged the draft by creating a medical excuse.

Fox News reported:

McCain was interviewed on C-CPAN3, American TV and talked about the war. The interview was wide ranging, but he mentioned the draft.

“We drafted the lowest income level of America and the highest income level found a doctor that would say that they had a bone spur,” McCain said “That is wrong. That is wrong. If we are going to ask every American to serve, every American should serve.”

The New York Times reported last year that Trump received a total of five military deferments during the war. Four were for education and one—in 1968—was the bone spurs in his heels. During that time, the U.S. inducted about 300,000 men into the military.

“I had a doctor that gave me a letter, a very strong letter on the heels,” Trump told the paper.

President Trump has since contested the comments, promising the medical excuse was a legitimate issue.

Trump and McCain have been at odds since Trump appeared on the political scene. Trump made comments in June 2015 claiming McCain was not a war hero.

But President Trump made it clear he merely wanted to praise everyday soldiers, not just those who were captured in war, like McCain.

McCain’s most recent comments are merely the top of the iceberg in his resistance against the President.

Even right-wing media sources are calling out McCain’s consistent struggle with the President — and are calling for him and the other “never- Trumpers” in Congress to resign.

The Hill reported:

Hannity said that after Trump critics Flake and Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) both announced they wouldn’t run for reelection, others critical of Trump’s agenda should join them.

“I have a suggestion for all you never-Trumper senators that are heading for the exits, people like Corker and Flake,” Hannity said. “Take your other colleagues with you.”

“Mitch McConnell, goodbye. Ben Sasse, goodbye. John Cornyn, goodbye,” Hannity said. “Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins…get the job done that you promised the American people.”

Hannity also went after Corker, Flake and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) as “martyrs” for criticizing Trump.

“You want to be martyrs, go ahead,” he said. “Here’s my answer to all of you tonight — good riddance. Happy trails, don’t let the door hit you on the way out of town.”

Do you believe John McCain should resign due to his vendetta against Trump?
