The swamp is pulling out all the stops to defeat Judge Roy Moore.

Their false allegations failed to kill his campaign.

But Moore thought he had braved the worst of their dirty tricks until one terrible thing happened.

With just over two weeks to go until the election, Moore appears to have steadied his campaign.

Recent polls show him leading his Democrat opponent Doug Jones, and the prediction markets find him a strong favorite to win the special election.

But Moore and his supporters were blindsided when a former aide to White House Chief of Staff Marine General John Kelly threw his hat in the ring as a write-in candidate.

Breitbart reports:

“Lee Busby, a retired Marine colonel and former aide to White House Chief of Staff John Kelly, announced on Monday that he will launch a last-minute write-in campaign against Republican nominee Alabama Judge Roy Moore and Democrat Doug Jones.

Lee Busby argued that the allegations of sexual misconduct against Roy Moore created an opening for an establishment, centrist candidate to launch a third-party run for the December 12 Alabama Senate race.

Busby said, “I think you can flip this thing. If this were a military operation, the left flank and the right flank are heavily guarded. I think that gives you an opportunity to run straight up the middle.”

Busby’s write-in campaign mirrors Evan McMullin’s third party bid in the 2016 presidential election. McMullin, nicknamed “McMuffin” by Trump supporters, admitted during the presidential election that if he could not stop Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump from being elected president, he would be “happy” just stopping Trump from becoming the 45th president.”

But there is evidence to suggest Busby is actually an establishment plant entering the race for the sole purpose of siphoning votes from Moore.

He was found out to have once attended a fundraiser for Doug Jones, who is Moore’s Democrat opponent.

Although, he’s claiming in media interviews that he had no intention of being a spoiler.

Politico reports:

“I’ve been accused of being a spoiler. It’s not. I think I will draw from both Roy Moore supporters and Doug Jones supporters,” Busby said Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.” “There’s this big swath of average Alabamians who are not represented in there, and they’re disgusted. They’re disoriented. And I’m talking to people who are politically active who simply were not going to vote because their choices were the Moore campaign or the Democratic candidate.”

But that may be fake news.

Breitbart reported that when he announced his candidacy he had no campaign website or staff:

“Bubsy has no campaign website or any serious campaign ground-game. The former aide to John Kelly hopes to rely on social media to spread the word about his campaign. Identifying himself as an Independent candidate, Bubsy, who retired from the Marine Corps in 2013, intends to emphasize his experience as a military leader, as well as his background as an investment banker, defense contractor, and entrepreneur.”

Busby alleges he is anti-abortion.

But many conservatives see him as an establishment plant designed to give skeptical Republicans a “safe” landing place if they can’t bring themselves to vote for the pro-baby killer Doug Jones.

Busby’s candidacy is Mitch McConnell and the swamp’s last desperate ploy to stop Roy Moore from winning.

Do you think it will work?
