The so-called “mainstream” media kicked the fake news into overdrive when Donald Trump announced his zero tolerance immigration policy.

But there was one big problem.

The media got caught red-handed covering up one of Barack Obama’s most awful scandals.

The Obama administration’s open borders policies were the catalyst for Donald Trump’s election.

Americans were horrified at the stories about tens of thousands of illegal alien minors attempting to flood the Southern border during the summer of 2014.

Now in 2018, Donald Trump is trying to clean up Barack Obama’s mess.

The President instituted a zero tolerance policy whereby all adults caught crossing the border illegally would be referred for criminal prosecution.

Because of the 1997 Flores consent decree, families cannot be detained together, so approximately 2,000 children were transferred to holding facilities while their parent’s deportation proceedings went through the system.

The media howled that the children were being ripped from their parents’ arms and lost in a bureaucratic maze, but this was not true.

The location of every parent and child is known to the government, and 500 children have been reunited with their parents.

Trump signed an executive order in response that mandated families be detained together while the deportation proceedings were being adjudicated.

Once again, the media kicked up a storm about children being allegedly held in “cages” – they were not – and being treated poorly by Trump.

They wanted to frame the President for a crime he didn’t commit.

When this story started gaining traction, reporters spread pictures of children in dog cages to demonstrate Trump’s inhumanity.

But the photos were from 2014.

Jeh Johnson – who headed Obama’s Department of Homeland Security in his second term –

freely admitted on Fox News Sunday that on his watch, families were detained and that what the media was criticizing Trump for was not new.

Johnson stated:

“Without a doubt the images, and the reality, from 2014, just like 2018, are not pretty,”

“And so we expanded family detention. We had then 34,000 beds for family detention. Only 95 of 34,000 equipped to deal with families. And so we expanded it. I freely admit it was controversial. We believed it was necessary at the time. I still believe it is necessary to remain a certain capability for families.”

Conservatives noted the media’s double-standard.

The press only made an issue about how illegal alien children were being treated when it could be used as a weapon against Trump.

Critics noted that no one in the media labeled Obama a Nazi for his detention policies.

President Trump tweeted:

One of the dominant themes in American politics since Donald Trump’s presidential campaign took off has been the outrageous conduct of the media.

Trump has forced the press to admit what they really are: a bunch of left-wing ideologues who don’t report the news, but doctor the narrative surrounding events in order to advance the left’s cause of destroying America.
