Barack Obama’s Deep State is keeping up the sabotage campaign against Donald Trump.

And James Clapper is one of the most high profile operatives carrying out this mission.

But he instantly regretted telling this lie about Donald Trump.

Democrats are obsessed with Russia.

The left believes a global conspiracy between Moscow and the Trump campaign cost Hillary Clinton the 2016 election.

Obama’s former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper is feeding this nonsensical conspiracy theory in a blatant effort to sell books.

In a newly released book, Clapper claims there is no doubt in his mind that Russia swung the election to Trump.

This is a departure from the intelligence community’s assessment he was part of that made no judgment on this fact.

Breitbart reports:

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper wrote in his new book that the Russians did much more than meddle in the 2016 presidential election. They put President Trump in the White House.

“Of course the Russian effort affected the outcome,” Clapper wrote in his book, Facts and Fears: Hard Truths from a Life in Intelligence. “Surprising even themselves, they swung the election to a Trump win.”

“To conclude otherwise stretches logic, common sense, and credulity to the breaking point,” Clapper wrote.

“Less than 80,000 votes in three key states swung the election,” Clapper wrote.

The Hill reported MSNBC host Rachel Maddow read these excerpts from the book on her Tuesday show.

“I have no doubt that more votes than that were influenced by this massive effort by the Russians,” Clapper wrote.

It’s clear that Clapper believes feeding the resistance narrative that Trump is an illegitimate President is the key to selling books and enriching himself.

So Clapper will gladly lie to people in order to feather his nest.

And it’s not like lying is new to Clapper.

Clapper is well known to have perjured himself before the Senate in 2013 when he denied that Barack Obama was illegally spying on all Americans.

The idea that Russia swung the election with a miniscule Facebook ad buy is ridiculous.

The Internet Research Agency, one of the alleged Russian troll farms, spent just $46,000 on pre-election Facebook ads.

Mueller’s indictment alleges that one month before the election the Internet Research Agency had a $1.25 million budget in total.

That isn’t even enough to swing a Congressional race.

Clapper knows he is feeding nonsense in his book.

But Clapper also knows that claiming the Russians swung the election will get him publicity in the liberal media and help him sell books.

It’s a lie.

He knows it is a lie.

But Clapper is telling this lie to make himself rich.
