North Korea has been little fish in a big pond for a long time. But that hasn’t stopped it from being in the pain in the butt for just as long. The rogue state has been threatening the USA since the early 90’s when Kim Jong-Il was foaming at the mouth to make a name for himself. When he died in 2011, his deranged son Kim Jong Un took power.
Since then, North Korea has been like an annoying horsefly buzzing around. Horseflies are more annoying than anything, but if they land and bite you, it will hurt. It won’t kill ya, but you’ll be pissed.
And that’s what Kim Jong-Un is doing with a parade of weaponry in recent days. He is pissing America off and should expect to be swatted.
Experts said that depending upon the capabilities of the weapons paraded, the North appears to be moving closer to its goal of creating an ICBM able to deliver a nuclear warhead to the continental U.S.
“It certainly appears to be a message to the United States that they’re capable of threatening the U.S. homeland. That’s certainly their objective,” said Adam Mount, senior fellow at the Center for American Progress.
“The signal that they’re trying to send is that they are moving ahead with solid-fuel missiles,” said Melissa Hanham, an expert at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies in California.
The North also presented a number of new Transporter Erector Launchers, which allow missiles to be fired from anywhere rather than from fixed positions.
Other highlights from the parade included the first public presentation of a submarine-launched ballistic missile and the land-based version of the weapon.
This has all the trappings of a show of military force and nothing more. In the past when Kim Jong Un has tested missles, they have literally flopped into the ocean immediately after launch.
And if Kim Jong wanted to be a force to be reckoned with, putting the weapons out there for everyone to see is a strategical error that a more seasoned, sensible commander would not make.
You simply don’t put all your cards on the table.
Now, if these are real, America will have already adjusted its strategy for defending against the imbalanced leader.
Since he has played his hand, even countries like China will have it in their interests to stop an escalation, as a war with the United States would send millions of refugees across the border into the Red State, which is something the Chinese don’t want either.
If we do go to war with North Korea, rest assured, it will be a fast one as our military strength will hammer Kim Jong Un and his ilk in to the ground.
