Screen Shot 2015-05-25 at 9.21.28 AMBefore she’s even made it to the Oval Office one group is attempting to impeach Mrs. Clinton.

The interesting twist is they hope to impeach her from the office of Secretary of State, even though she’s already vacated the post.

The Special Operations Speaks PAC is the one leading the charge, and they’ve already got a petition with 30,000+ signatures to help secure the impeachment.

The Special Operations Speaks PAC is a group formed to educate Americans about ongoing threats to the security of the United States.

As stated on their website, it’s entirely possible to impeach an official, even after they’ve stopped working in the position.

As their website notes, “Fact is, congressional precedent dictates that all elected officials remain subject to impeachment and disqualification from holding office even after resignation,” SOS said.

They claim Hillary Clinton should be impeached because of the many crimes she’s committed against the U.S. Their petition reads, “[SOS] is calling on the United States Congress to impeach former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for ‘high crimes and misdemeanors’ pursuant to Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution of the United States.”

According to SOS, there are three distinct and consequential reasons Mrs. Clinton should get the boot.

  1. She  “absented herself from the besieged in Benghazi on September 11, 2012, costing four American lives.”
  2. “As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton received, through the Clinton Foundation, emoluments from foreign governments, despite Article 1, Section 9, which proscribes the reception of foreign ‘gifts’ by U.S. officials without the express consent of Congress.”
  3. They claim her use of a private email was unlawful and point out what a grave threat it posed to the national security interests of America saying  it was “detriment of national security” as well as a violation of the Freedom of Information Act.

Surprisingly their request to have her impeached would not be a historical first.

Larry Bailey who is both a former U.S. Navy officer as well as the co-funder of SOS said:

If the 44th Congress had the power to impeach the war secretary after he exited his post, then the 114th Congress can impeach Hillary Clinton in the same fashion.

Congress needs to remember that they have a backbone and that they have in their hands the power to end Hillary Clinton’s presidential run, and any official pursuits she may have, once and for all.

If she were to be impeached retroactively, it means she would be ineligible to serve as the President of these United States.

Let’s hope the petition gets many more signatures.
