The respected science journal Nature Geoscience just released a new study showing that global warming alarmists are full of hot air.

A supposedly breathtaking, bombshell report published this week has taken the scientific community by storm.

At long last, the global warming alarmists of the world are ready to admit what skeptics have been saying for years: That the “official” climate models that have been predicting a global catastrophe in just a few years thanks to carbon emissions are WRONG.

And these models aren’t just a teensy bit off either.  They are so off that climate scientists are now being forced to admit that the Great Emergency we were all facing just a few days ago is actually no big deal.

Even the extreme liberal media must admit this conclusion is a total game-changer.

The Independent reports:

Computer modelling used a decade ago to predict how quickly global average temperatures would rise may have forecast too much warming, a study has found.

The Earth warmed more slowly than the models forecast, meaning the planet has a slightly better chance of meeting the goals set out in the Paris climate agreement, including limiting global warming to 1.5C above pre-industrial levels.

Scientists said previous models may have been “on the hot side”.

That is an understatement.  Their projections were not even close.

The study, published this week in the journal Nature Geoscience, does not play down the threat which climate change has to the environment, and maintains that major reductions in emissions must be attained.

But the findings indicate the danger may not be as acute as was previously thought.

Myles Allen, professor of geosystem science at the University of Oxford and one of the study’s authors told The Times: “We haven’t seen that rapid acceleration in warming after 2000 that we see in the models. We haven’t seen that in the observations.”

In other words, Al Gore and all the global warming/climate change people who claimed that we had to embrace the Paris Accords or else the world was going to end are way off.

So what would have happened if we had done what the alarmists wanted?

The Heritage Society says that if the US had bought into the fear mongering like Obama wanted us to we’d see:

  • An overall average shortfall of nearly 400,000 jobs;
  • An average manufacturing shortfall of over 200,000 jobs;
  • A total income loss of more than $20,000 for a family of four;
  • An aggregate gross domestic product (GDP) loss of over $2.5 trillion; and
  • Increases in household electricity expenditures between 13 percent and 20 percent.

All of this for something that this week has been proven to be wrong.

The Washington Post says:

A group of prominent scientists on Monday created a potential whiplash moment for climate policy, suggesting that humanity could have considerably more time than previously thought to avoid a “dangerous” level of global warming.

But the new calculation diverged so much from what had gone before that other experts were still trying to figure out what to make of it.

“When it’s such a substantial difference, you really need to sit back and ponder what that actually means,” Glen Peters, an expert on climate and emissions trajectories at the Center for

International Climate Research in Oslo, said of the paper.

That may have already begun, with at least one prominent climate scientist confessing he had a hard time believing the result.

Gee whiz, you have a “rough time” believing the results?  Should we be calling you a “Science Denier”?

The hypocrisy is incredible.
