Screen Shot 2016-01-11 at 3.56.39 PMWhen the news broke Hillary Clinton was using a private email server to conduct important (and classified) government business millions of Americans weren’t all that surprised.

The Clintons have had a litany of scandals trailing in their wake. And Hillary’s usually a central element in those scandals.

After Trey Gowdy broke the news about the possibility of classified material existing on an unsecured server the FBI was forced to conduct a criminal investigation to assess the extent of the abuse.

What they found confirmed Mrs. Clinton did indeed pass classified information using her personal email account. According to their research the total number of classified emails she had on her server is expected to climb past the 1,340 they’ve already found.

And here’s where things get even more convoluted. After the FBI discovered these obvious abuses they’ve now found new, possible criminal activity that adds a new, and disturbing wrinkle to the saga.

It really doesn’t look good for Hillary.

Fox News reports:

“The FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of private email as secretary of state has expanded to look at whether the possible “intersection” of Clinton Foundation work and State Department business may have violated public corruption laws, three intelligence sources not authorized to speak on the record told Fox News.”

The FBI is concerned the Clintons might have avoided following the correct procedures for donations which could confirm what recent press reports have alluded to…the Clintons use their foundation as a shell company to help benefit close friends who serve as donors.

The sources who were not permitted to speak to the media on record said, “The agents are investigating the possible intersection of Clinton Foundation donations, the dispensation of State Department contracts and whether regular processes were followed.

There is a spot of bad news though. Just because they found this possible criminal activity doesn’t mean they’re going to be able to pursue this in later prosecution.

It is unclear which of the two lines of inquiry was opened first by the FBI and whether they eventually will be combined and presented before a special grand jury. One intelligence source said the public corruption angle dates back to at least April 2015. On their official website, the FBI lists “public corruption as the FBI’s top criminal priority.”

Fox News is told that about 100 special agents assigned to the investigations also were asked to sign non-disclosure agreements, with as many as 50 additional agents on “temporary duty assignment,” or TDY. The request to sign a new NDA could reflect that agents are handling the highly classified material in the emails, or serve as a reminder not to leak about the case, or both.

“The pressure on the lead agents is brutal,” a second source said. “Think of it like a military operation, you might need tanks called in along with infantry.”

However, the simple fact she declined to use her government issued email in favor of a personal one could be enough to nail Hillary to the wall. This according to a former State Department employee.

She told Fox News “It is virtually automatic when one comes on board at the State Department to be assigned an email address.”

“It would have taken an affirmative act not to have one assigned … and it would also mean it was all planned out before she took office. This certainly raises questions about the so-called legal advice she claimed to have received from inside the State Department that what she was doing was proper.”

Of course Hillary continues to disavow any reports about her obvious impropriety…but the growing  evidence doesn’t look like Hillary will be able to deny the truth much longer.
