soldiers-flagWith Veteran’s Day come and gone, many in the nation find it easy to forget about the great sacrifice troops have made to keep this country safe.

However, liberals like to think that freedom just grows on trees, apparently forgetting Thomas Jefferson’s famous quote, “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”

David Masciotra of Salon magazine wrote an article entitled “You don’t protect my freedom: Our childish insistence on calling soldiers heroes deadens real democracy.”

In it, he writes filth which he passes on as journalism.

One excerpt reads:

Put a man in uniform, preferably a white man, give him a gun, and Americans will worship him. It is a particularly childish trait, of a childlike culture, that insists on anointing all active military members and police officers as “heroes.”

The rhetorical sloppiness and intellectual shallowness of affixing such a reverent label to everyone in the military or law enforcement betrays a frightening cultural streak of nationalism, chauvinism, authoritarianism and totalitarianism, but it also makes honest and serious conversations necessary for the maintenance and enhancement of a fragile democracy nearly impossible.

If you have the stomach for it, you can read the entire article here.

The article essentially tries to debase soldiers and makes them look like rapists, sadists, and bloodthirsty heathens. A pretty shallow and uncaring opinion to have for some of the nation’s finest.

It’s likely that most liberals share these kinds of opinions. No doubt Obama does.

Why else would he subject veterans to the torture of dealing with a VA that looks at veterans as problems rather than as defenders of liberty?

Liberals need a lesson, a lesson from history.

And the true face of liberal ideology is being exposed here, the disdain for freedom and those who defend it.

John S. Mill wrote something in 1848 that still rings true today.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse.

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Our nation’s men and women in uniform deserve something better than the drivel penned by Masciotra.

And you need something better than Democratic leadership.

Obama is doing everything in his power, along with things outside of his power, to get his goals to come to life. And part of that plan is to keep Americans completely dependent on foreign oil. It’s one the reasons out brave soldiers haven’t been brought home yet.
