Democrats have gone all in on Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

Key officials believe it is the silver bullet to winning back Congress in 2018.

Now some top Democrats are being forced to admit one thing about the Russia probe.

Polls shows Americans don’t rate Russia as the most pressing issue facing their lives.

A recent survey found just six percent of Americans rank it as the number one issue in America.

Democrats learned this the hard way when they lost four straight contested special elections despite the media pressing the Russia fake news 24/7.

Democrats quickly came to realize they had no message other than hating Trump.

Their radical base – which believes Trump is a traitor in league with Vladimir Putin – is demanding the Party pursue the Russia scandal as a means to impeach Trump.

It proved to be a colossal failure and now Democrats are left scrambling for a new platform ahead of the 2018 midterms.

And that is leading some top Democrats to split with their base and acknowledge the Russia story is not a big deal.

Politico reported:

“Democrats are increasingly conflicted about how forcefully to press the issue of possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.

Fearful of alienating voters who appear more concerned about the economy and health care, Democrats campaigning in districts across the country are de-emphasizing Russia in their rhetoric — and some are warning that a persistent focus on the Russia investigation could backfire.

“In the races where I’m working, I think voters think that Russia is important and that the questions need to get answered,” Bill Burton, a veteran Democratic consultant, said at a political convention this past weekend. “But they’re mostly sick of hearing about it, and they want to hear politicians talk about things that are more directly important in their lives.”

In a state that is critical to the party’s efforts to retake the House, Darry Sragow, a Democratic strategist whose California Target Book handicaps races in California, called Russia a “distraction” and said Democrats “are going to be in deep, deep trouble if they don’t start talking about what voters care about.”

“We need to talk about what people think about when they wake up in the morning, and it’s not Russia,” Sragow said. “The more we talk about stuff that voters don’t truly care about in their daily lives … it confirms that the Democratic Party’s brain has been eaten by the elites in Washington who have been sitting fat and happy for a lot of years while working Americans have lost their jobs and lost confidence in the future.”

The Russia story is fake news.

A year’s worth of investigations by the FBI, Congress and special counsel Mueller have yielded nothing.

The Russia story is exactly what Trump claimed it is – a hoax invented by the Democrats to excuse Hillary Clinton’s stunning loss.

The media – which hates Trump and is scheming to overthrow his administration by trying to overturn the election results – is pushing the Russia conspiracy in concert with the Democrat base because they want to drive Trump from office.

But the only ones paying a price for promoting this hoax are Democrats who keep losing elections.
