Federal employees are supposed to execute and enforce the law.

Instead, they are helping criminals cover up federal crimes.

A splinter group of anti-Trump leftists with government employee badges are openly sabotaging investigations into Obama’s IRS crimes, and Obama’s illegal sale of weapons to Mexican drug lords, which led to 300 murders including that of a Border Patrol agent.

What can Trump do to break this obstruction of justice, fire saboteurs, and bring criminal charges against these rogues and Obama officials?

The Washington Examiner reports:

Republican hopes that the election of President Trump would open the federal government’s vaults to investigators probing Obama-era scandals including Fast and Furious and the IRS have died as burrowed-in workers try to “wait out” until the president leaves office, said a top House GOP member.

In a blunt exit interview, retiring Rep. Jason Chaffetz, the outgoing chairman of the House Oversight & Government Reform Committee, said stonewalling by agencies is just as bad as it was during the Obama era.

“I think if we went to the senior most people, even the president himself, they would be pulling their hair out and they would hate to hear that but within the bowels of the organization, they just seem to circle the wagons and think, oh we just, we can just wait you out. We can just wait you out,” he said on the upcoming Full Measure with Sharyl Attkisson…

That interview aired Sunday.

Chaffetz specifically pointed to efforts to thwart investigations into possible crimes by IRS officials and the Justice Department during the Obama administration.

“There was the investigation into the IRS. And one that was more than seven years old is Fast and Furious. I mean, we have been in court trying to pry those documents out of the Department of Justice and still to this day, they will not give us those documents. And at the State Department, nothing. Stone cold silence,” said Chaffetz.

Chaffetz also called out his Republican colleagues for their refusal to more aggressively pursue corruption.

“The reality is, there aren’t very many people that want to play offense. There aren’t many people who say, look, we have a duty and an obligation to fulfill the oversight responsibility that was put in place at the very founding of our country,” Chaffetz told Attkisson.

Chaffetz is right, but part of the blame lies with a 1960s Executive Order.

John F. Kennedy’s Executive Order 10988 in 1962 changed government rules to allow federal employees to unionize.

That Order was further strengthened by Richard Nixon in 1969 with Executive Order 11491.

Those two Executive actions made government employees virtually bulletproof.

Armed with union representation to organize against the very taxpayers they are supposed to serve, it is now nearly impossible to fire government employees who openly refuse to do their job.

Shielded by government employee unions, who are among the single biggest funders of political campaigns in America, anti-Trump Deep Staters can openly defy their boss and boldly sabotage criminal investigations.

Union rules protect them from being fired for refusing to work, and the massive political spending by government unions ensures politicians will not take them on.

But one man can change that – President Trump.

As Chief Executive, he sets most of the rules for government employment.

And he can issue his own Executive Order overturning 10988 and 11491, and prohibiting the formation of “employee organizations” and nullifying any agreements between the federal government and government unions.

That strips the Deep State of the arcane and abusive union rules shielding them from being fired for misconduct.

That means accountability, and an end to Deep State obstruction and leaking.
