The United States is on track to have one of the lowest recorded rates of crime in several years, according to a study conducted by researchers at the Brennan Center for Justice in New York City.

Despite the media favoring stories fueled by political ideologies, and the rising level of terror from enemies in the east, the United States itself is secure inside its own borders.

Between pro-gun regulations and immigration control measures being implemented, the country is the safest it has been in years, thanks to President Trump.

The survey conducted by the New York research institute gathered information from police stations in major cities across the United States — and even Chicago is becoming safer.

Historical totals for end-of-year crime rates were projected and figured into the study as well.

The Daily Caller reports:

Researchers Ames Grawert and James Cullen estimated that for 2017 the overall crime rate will be fewer than 4,000 crimes per 100,000 people – a drop of 1.8 percent which would rank as the second lowest crime rate since 1990.

The projected murder rate is expected to decrease by 2.5 percent which is due to a sharp decline in murders in “Detroit (down 25.6 percent), Houston (down 20.5 percent), and New York (down 19.1 percent).”

Despite constant media buzz from right-of-center media outlets about shootings and murders in Chicago, the city is expected to see a 2.4 percent decrease in the number of murders it sees for 2017.

Overall, the violent crime rate is expected to remain stable with only a .6 percent decrease.

“This result is driven primarily by stabilization in Chicago, and declines in Washington, D.C., two large cities that experienced increases in violence in recent years,” the study notes. “The violent crime rate for this year is projected to be about 1 percent above 2014’s violent crime rate, the lowest recorded since 1990.”

The trend in reduced crime was first noticed in May after the increase of concealed carry permits correlated directly with a lower crime rate.

After the NRA released a study of their own detailing the trend, Breitbart released their own research on the matter — and when concealed carry permits increased by over 215%, crime rates lowered to an astonishing 14%.

Breitbart reports:

Here is the problem with their claims — concealed carry surged by 215 percent between 2007 and 2015 and the murder rate fell and the violent crime rate fell with it.

On December 4, 2013, Breitbart News reported a Congressional Research Study (CRS) which showed a similar correlation between gun ownership and plummeting murder numbers. Gun ownership climbed from 192 million firearms in 1994 to 310 million firearms in 2009, CRS found that murder rates fell sharply during the same time period. According to the report, the “firearm-related murder and non-negligent homicide” rate was 6.6 per 100,000 Americans in 1993 but fell to 3.6 per 100,000 in 2000. By 2011, the murder rate was 3.2 per 100,000.

Another big factor in the lowering crime rate is immigration control.

President Trump’s continual efforts to regulate the influx of immigrants into America has created a decrease in border state violence.

In July, The Blaze reported about the shockingly low crime rate after Phoenix, Arizona dropped its Sanctuary City status.

“We saw a decrease in crime.  It had a deterrent effect on folks because the risk of discovery went up exponentially when we actually enforced the law.”

Under the new policies, law enforcement could ask suspects if they are in the U.S. legally, and they could inform immigration agencies about violations of federal laws.

Fox News reported that the murder rate in Phoenix fell by 27 percent, robberies fell by 23 percent, and assault fell by 13 percent. Even more minor crimes fell, with burglaries by 14 percent and theft by 19 percent.

Do you think President Trump’s focus on lowering immigration levels and loosening gun regulations put into place by former President Obama are hindering crime rates?
