Chelsea Clinton continues to try and take up the mantle of left-wing “hero.”

She continually engages in fights on social media in an effort to attack Trump and his supporters.

Her latest stunt ended very badly.

Democrats and the media are furious that the Trump administration has scaled back White House press briefings.

The daily sessions with Press Secretary Sean Spicer and the media turned into spectacles where the liberal activists in the press corps attempted to outdo one another with partisan speeches masquerading as questions.

Journalists’ goal wasn’t to deliver information to the American people so much as it was to engage in a competition to see who could draw the most blood with attacks on Trump.

The Trump administration realized they weren’t getting much out of them, so Spicer began holding fewer televised briefings.

This created a new media “scandal.”

Reporters wanted to know what Trump was “hiding.”

Chief Strategist Steve Bannon was texting with a reporter who was trying to figure out what was going on, and Bannon joked that they reduced the number of on-camera briefings because Spicer was “getting fatter.”

The Atlantic reports:

“Neither Spicer nor deputy press secretary Sarah Sanders responded to queries about the changes to the briefings. Asked why the briefings are now routinely held off-camera, White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said in a text message “Sean got fatter,” and did not respond to a follow-up.”

This caused Chelsea Clinton to fly off the handle.

When it was pointed out that Bannon was cracking a joke, it sent her into a further tailspin.

The irony here is rich.

Liberals consider late-night comedians who hurl insult after insult at Trump their main source of news.

They love to blast Republicans as humorless sticks in the mud.

But as Chelsea Clinton showed, liberals just can’t take a joke.
