Arizona’s Jeff Flake is the establishment’s leading RINO and Trump hater.

The retiring Senator continues to lash out at the President.

But he just threatened the one thing that would be really bad news for Trump.

In an interview on MSNBC, the liberal Republican claimed that Trump would not only face a third party independent candidate in the general election, but that he would face a GOP primary challenger.

Breitbart reports:

“On Sunday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “KasieDC,” Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ), who announced he would not seek re-election in this year’s midterm election, told host Kasie Hunt that he expected President Donald Trump to have a challenger for Republican Party 2020 presidential nomination.

Hunt asked Flake if he thought Republicans had a moral obligation to opposed Trump for the party’s nod.

“I don’t want to put it that way, but I think he will have a challenge,” Flake said. “He’ll certainly have a challenge from somebody as an independent. But I think he’ll likely have a challenge in the Republican Party as well. I am not the only one — the only Republican who is saying, ‘You know, I’m not sure this is my party. We used to stand for limited government and free trade, free enterprise and not this kind of nationalist, protectionist kind of party.

Later, she asked if Flake if he would run in 2020.

“I won’t rule it out,” Flake said. “It’s not in my plans. But I’m not ruling it out. I don’t think anybody should.”

Not only did Flake predict that Trump would face a primary challenge, but he left the door open to mounting one himself.

Flake is a liberal globalist who puts the interests of Americans behind those of his establishment paymasters.

He supports mass immigration, amnesty for illegals, and global trade deals.

But a primary challenge and an independent candidate could doom Trump.

In 1992, George H.W. Bush faced a primary opponent and an independent general election candidate.

That led to the election of Bill Clinton.

Everything in Washington must be viewed through the prism of the establishment trying to get rid of Trump.

Would the GOP establishment go so far as to run a primary challenger to weaken Trump, as well as an independent candidate to siphon votes, ultimately electing the Democrat?
