Political enemies are trying to ruin Trump’s presidency.

The infamous Trump dossier was supposed to be the final nail in the coffin, but instead has  caused more problems for the people behind it than it has for Trump.

The organization that commissioned the dossier is now facing intense scrutiny because of their shady supporters.

Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm behind the document, refuses to disclose the identity of their political clients who financed the charge against Trump.

The Daily Caller reports:

In a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee sent on Friday, lawyers for Fusion GPS said that disclosing the information about the firm’s opposition research project would undercut its First Amendment privileges and violate confidentiality agreements.

As has been widely reported, an unidentified Republican donor hired Fusion GPS in late 2015 to research Trump. But after the real estate magnate won the Republican primary, the donor dropped from the project. But Fusion GPS soon found another client, this one a Democratic ally of Hillary Clinton’s.

Fusion GPS hired former British M-16 operative Christopher Steele to gain information for their dossier, much of which has been written off as fake news.

The Daily Caller continues:

Fusion hired former British spy Christopher Steele to research Trump’s Russia connections. He produced a series of memos now known collectively as the dossier. The salacious document, much of which has been debunked, was leaked to numerous news outlets and published by BuzzFeed on Jan. 10.

As head of the Judiciary Committee, Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley has taken special interest in the identity of the people behind the accusatory document.

One donor was revealed to be a Clinton ally, though remains anonymous. Yet another was regrettably a Republican, whose name has also not been released.

Despite an FBI inquiry, the financiers refuse to lose their anonymity.

The Daily Caller reports:

In its latest letter, Fusion GPS says that it consulted with its political clients about the committee’s inquiry. But the unidentified financiers appear to not want their identity revealed.

The credibility of the memos is coming into question, especially when considering the secrecy behind the identity of the financiers.

The Daily Caller continues:

“When political opposition research becomes the basis for law enforcement or intelligence efforts, it raises substantial questions about the independence of law enforcement and and intelligence from politics,” Grassley wrote in a March 24 letter to Glenn Simpson, a former Wall Street Journal reporter and owner of Fusion GPS.

More than likely, the “dossier” was just another Deep State plot to demean the President, which did not turn out how they wanted.
